James S. Hockenberry, EA - Jim has over 21 years experience in income tax and financial planning. He is an Enrolled Agent and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from The University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. He has worked as a tax researcher / technical writer and has served as an instructor for several tax and financial organizations. Jim has a series 6, 63, 7, 24, and 65 investment licenses, and has written several texts regarding income tax, estate tax and financial planning matters.
Jim is also an owner of and instructor for Back to Basics Income Tax Seminars®, which holds live income tax seminars and small business tax workshops in Arizona, Illinois, Texas & Wisconsin.
James Vanden Branden, CPA - Jim is the owner/manager of a CPA firm which specializes in income tax preparation and planning. Previously, Jim worked for the National Association of Tax Professionals (NATP) at their Appleton, Wisconsin headquarters. While at NATP, he researched and answered federal tax questions for members and nonmembers, and wrote and proofread articles and text-based educational courses. Jim also wrote, presented, and recorded continuing education webinars for NATP, wrote and recorded podcasts, and wrote and presented a tax research seminar at the NATP 2010 technology and office productivity conference.
Jim has more than two decades of relevant tax and business experience. He started his tax career in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin tax department of one of the premier international accounting firms in 1986. He also worked for a regional CPA firm in Appleton, Wisconsin and has experience in financial planning, investments, group benefits and insurance, and retirement plans.
Jim earned a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting from University of Wisconsin – Green Bay and a Master of Accounting Science degree from Marquette University.
